Media Activation Manager Programmatic (m/f/d)

About the role:

As a Programmatic Activation Manager at Essence you will be primarily responsible for managing programmatic display and video campaigns; ensuring on-going and timely optimization is delivered and constantly looking for opportunities to improve performance. You will be expected to build relationships with key media and technology partners in line with your client’s target audience. You will also be responsible for 1-2 junior team members, making spend forecasts, and creating and monitoring campaigns to deliver on agreed targets. Your focus will be on in-depth analysis, trend spotting, accurate execution and leading and developing a team.

Some of the things we'd like you to do:

Campaign Management

  • Put together media plans to achieve campaign Goals
  • Demonstrate clear and thorough understanding of display advertising and deliver well-developed intelligent campaigns to successfully hit client KPIs
  • Deliver in-depth analysis to understand performance beyond top line metrics
  • Manage the workload of yourself and junior team members to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Manage the development and coaching of junior team members C

Client/Stakeholder Management
  • Agree with the clients/internal stakeholders on targets and how best to achieve them
  • Provide spend forecasts and monitor campaigns
  • Ensure work is in sync with overall media campaigns and plans are in agreement with appropriate Associate Directors and Account Director

Media Skills
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of digital display, and working knowledge of other biddable platforms (video, social, search)
  • Help our clients realize the possibilities of using audience data in smart and meaningful ways
  • Keep up to date with the media industry and provide opinions and thought leadership to the rest of the agency
  • Develop and execute best in class campaigns across market-leading programmatic platforms and develop strong working relationships with key media and tech Partners
  • Contribute to the upkeep and evolution of programmatic best practices for your client and across the agency, through innovation and robust testing
  • Explore the expanding programmatic ecosystem across devices and Formats

A bit about yourself:

  • Solid agency-side or client-side experience working across programmatic display or video. Direct experience of managing DSP activity yourself is a must
  • Experience working with media and tech partners; you should be able to critically assess partners and technology for consideration on your client's plans
  • Strong analytical skills and a natural affinity for numbers is key; you must be able to analyse raw data, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations as needed
  • High attention to detail with an understanding of optimization levers across platforms

  • Experience with planning and running display campaigns on GDN or YouTube
  • Line management experience
  • Experience with Google Analytics (or similar) and Google Marketing Platform products
  • Involvement with running campaigns across multiple countries / languages
